my friend just purchased a 1991 honda civic si hatchback we have changed the distributor and gave it an oil change but the car smokes sooo bad burning oil like there is no 2moroe we are thinkin oil might be leaking into the head and then burning out through the exhaust do you guys have any opinions on it were pretty lost to tell the truth the car has a 140k on it wat else could be the problem??

time for a compression test

 

A compression check would be nice to know, but it might no tell you much. My old hatch smokes, and the compression rings were cool, but the oil rings were trashed. Ryan

 

Check compression and make sure your PCV is hooked up and working cause your car will smoke a lot if that isn't hooked up.

 

ya my old motor in my hatch smoked a lot too..... tell you what just get rids of it competely is a new motor
