Brake Lamp
I know of someone who has a prelude with a Brake Lamp light that stays on all the time, does anyone know how to stop this. Someone told me to put like a paperclip in one of the outlets by the sunroof?
I had this happen to me when I first bought my lude. I replaced the lights in both of my tail lights and the light was still on, after about a week, i figured out that I had a third brakelamp, too...the one in the back window. Replaced that, and the light went off. Make sure your friend checks ALL of the lamps instead of just getting mad like I did.
i'm the friend with the light on. it's the brake lamp light, not the abs light. it's a 93 Si. the lamp is on because my third brake light is removed completely. the reason it is moved is to stop it from rattling frantically when my 12" L5 in my trunk gets happy. eventually it will be carefully dynomated and replaced, until then i am stuck with a brake lamp light. i tried completing the circuit with a paperclip, however, apparently the lamp is triggered by a change in the voltage drop over the entire circuit because the lights (which act as resistors in the circuit) are no longer dropping the voltage across the circuit like it should. my idea is to put a resistor in the outlets, i just need to know what size. anyone?

You are correct that the warning light functions on a voltage drop, I would suggest going to napa or auto zone or whatever and seeing if they have a book that lists the voltage/amperage or the buld so you can find the right resistior

Using a paper clip is a bad idea. Whenever you hit the brakes you're shorting that line out, and will either end up blowing a fuse or burning up the brake sense circuit (which might be what happened). I'll give you a value of a resistor to use...
