gsr brake question for eg hatch?
Hey guys i have a gsr brake converstion on my hatch all around front and back. I still have my cx booster and Mc. Just wondering why my perportioning is off when i brake hard the fronts lock up really quick. Is there a perportioning valve on the cx or do i need one from the gsr or is there a way to adjust the amount so it does not lock up the fronts?
thanks guys
thanks guys
You need to change the proportioning valve. The GSR valve will work for sure, but the valve from other cars with four wheel discs will help also.
edit: Don't forget the master cylinder.

There are 4 digit numerical codes on them. I don't know the numbers off of the top of my head though.
The valve is a gray looking funky shaped cylinder mounted on the firewall. It is to the left of the brake master cylinder and has 4 hardlines running to it.

You need the 4040 Proportioning Valve(off 3rd gen tegs), and of course their MC and Brake Booster as well(Integra RS is best/easiest). Enjoy

You MUST have an Integra booster in order to run an Integra master cylinder! Although the lines fit perfectly on the Intgegra RS mastercylinder, no Integra master cylinder will bolt up to the CIVIC brake booster. Get the Integra booster and you will have to run an Integra master cylinder too.
Integra RS master cylinder. The base model RS Integra had NO ABS so the lines match up PERFECT with any non-abs Civic - which most of you have. I have done this in my own car and it truly bolts in.
The Integra master cylinder is a 15/16th whgile the Civic non-abs uses a smaller 13/16th master cylinder.
Finally, add the GS-R, LS, RS, etc. proportion valve and you will have completed the package. 1992-1993 Civics will require you to change JUST the bracket over - use the Teg prop valve with the Civic bracket. 1994-1995 Civics can use the Integra bracket.
