my pickle fork is worth its weight in gold.. what other tools are?
i knew about ball joints and the pickle fork b4 i started messing with taking my front knuckles off, and thank the lord that i did. so i was thinking today that b4 i get into my swap (gsr into crx) it would be nice to know about all the other tools that are as handy to have as a pickle fork.. from wrenchin away to splicing wires... what are some of the must have tools for a swap, becuase they just make your life easier, not cuz the job can be done without them. thanks guys...
oh and since i know someone is going to say it i'll start with: a big *** hammer!

4 foot breaker bar and a extra tps sensor oh wait tools, ya a four foot breaker bar or a whole exhaust minus muffler for a breaker bar
air tools...they make that job that is damn near impossible become easy when you have them. axle nuts are no longer a problem for me...

I'd have to agree with breaker bar, always a must
another thing, a good socket set, i hate it when you get cheap sockets and they just keep breaking. A nice socket set with lifetime warranty is also nice to have.

I havent done my swap yet (next week tho IM STOAKED) but it sure is nice to have the rachet wrenchs. I love those things. To bad they are so expensive. Props to the breaker bar... Dont know what Id do with out it.... If that doesnt work I bust out with a 3 ft metal pipe...

Pick Tools! I use these things for everything, mostly wiring things, but they are good for getting off window cranks, prying apart small things, and all kinds of stuff.
I use my pickle fork mostly for prying axles out of the tranny.
As for air tools I did my entire swap without using my air tools, I didn't find it that hard at all.

yeah but in a pinch you can grind the threads off of a 3/8" bolt and it works just as good

I can attest to the usefulness of these air tools, they relieve headaches faster than aspirin
.
I am also a huge fan of vise grips. When used correctly they are a great tool to have

Definately agree, vice = win.

I don't like using a pickle fork on the ball joints. they tend to break the boot. I use a break bar to split them. You need one that is small enough to fit in between the LCA and the nuckle at the inside on the joint. they it needs to get larger close to the handle so you can hammer it in between the two pieces. breaks apart with little effort and no damage to the boot. Or you can jack up the suspension and insert the larger end of the bar and let it back down. POP its loose.
ratchet wrenches are new favorite tool.
For the shift pin: get an air chisel with a round bit that will fit or grind one to fit. fast and little effort again.
A small propane torch to heat bolts that won't come out too.

Bright Work light for staying up until 3am to work.
Needle nosed pliars.
Bag of oil dry because I always manage to spill fluid or knock over containers of oil etc. when doing swaps.
Big drill for front crossmember modification
PB blaster, liquid wrench, etc.
extra $$$ to buy anything else you need

air tools of course. I got myself an air ratchet and a 10, 12, 14, 17, and 18mm and those are the ONLY sockets I've needed no matter what cars I work on (coincidentally I only have Honda/Acuras). But when it comes down to it, between my pops and I, we have EVERY tool known to man or a close approximation of it, other than maybe a plasma torch.
Breaker bar...
Pry bars (an actual set of prybars is SO COOL)...
Vice grips (saved my *** so many times)...
18-pack of beer... ohhh yeah baby... the only thing that makes me want to keep working....
I really want ratcheting wrenches
