Need help installing rear spoiler
Forgive me if this is the wrong forum. I have a factory spoiler for a 1996 Accord 4-door I bought from a guy but there are no instructions. Can someone point me to a link or explain how to install this thing? How do you hook up the wiring cable and what are these two long metal rods for? Help!
Thanks

I installed the spolier on my 00 Si using the instructions. Not very hard at all as they are very detailed. Marks for the holes should already be on the bottom side of your trunk lid. Just read the instructions first and determine if you're up to the task. If not, then take it to a shop.
I assumed he felt he could do the job as he was asking for a link to instructions.

The only part that concerns me about the install is replacing the trunk springs. The instructions say to use a special tool. Does anyone know how to get these off using common tools?

did the spoiler you bought come with the trunk springs? most used spoilers don't include them.
when I installed mine, I just used the springs that were already on the car. trunk never fell on my head from being too heavy, although the accord trunk might be different.

you prolly need the "trunk spring loader" tool, it's a special tool you can use,
but you prolly can do it with a buddy and some wrench.
as far as knowing where to drill, pop the trunk and there should be some kind of marking underneath.

Did you keep your rear window brake light working? If so, what did you do to connect the spoiler light and the third brake light to power? I don't know if I want this but I would like to know how just in case.
Thanks

normally, if you have the OEM spolier kit, it includes a wiring harness to supply power to the spoiler brake light, if your spoiler has one in it. If it does, the wiring harness unplugs the rear interior brake light and routes power to the spoiler brake light. I just routed the power to the spoiler brake light as per instructions and left the interior brake light inactive.
you might want to consider which option you want to follow as not routing the power to the spoiler brake light and just keeping the interior brake light would mean for a simpler iinstall and one less hole you have to drill into your trunk. read the install instructions that I posted the link to and you'll see which hole I'm talking about.
