ls crank in a b18c1 block?
i need a new crank for my b18c block and was wondering do i have to get a crank from a gsr or can i use a crank from a b18a ls motor? will any ls crank work? or does it have to be a b18b (newer ls motor) crank? thanx for all help
well i found a ls crank out of a 91 b18a motor for 20 bux and it would be a good deal if it would work but i have heard that the ls motors have a longer stroke and it wouldnt work but i am open to 2nd opinions....
i want to use the ls crank with gsr rods and JE 12:1 pistons for a gsr. all the parts are for gsr except the crank. i just want to make sure if it will work or not b4 i waste 20 bux lol thanx guys
i was waiting for one of the seniors to chime in. so i need to disregard what other people have said about the ls having more stroke than the gsr crank ?
do u guys think that it is safe to put a 91 b18a ls crank in a b18c1 block will it be ok? thanx vtecvoodoo

well i have been talking to the guy on vtecatlanta.com the one thats selling it and he said that if i use the crank in the gsr block i have to use ls rods because if i use gsr rods with a ls crank the pistons will be coming out the top of the block does that sound right? also if i were to use ls rods would the je pistons i have that are for a gsr motor will the ls rods bolt up toi the pistons or will i have problems?

It`s basically an ls/vtec setup just using a gsr block. Now you`ll have oil squirters and no external oil line. A frew friends have the setup an dtheir cars run strong.
thats great news. thanx for the reply so basically what i am asking now is (please dont be mad at me) with a gsr block and ls crank what piston and rods do i have to use? are the JE piston and rods i have now for the gsr crank basically useless?
well i would but i already have JE 12:1 pistons for a gsr and also gsr rods. i was wanting to know if i could use the pistons and rods with the ls crank or am i going to have to get ls pistons and rods?
you need to match the rods with the crank. ls crank = ls rods. gsr crank = gsr rods. the LS crank will give you ~50 more CCs. i think its somewhere in the mid 40s but im not positive. but it throws your r/s ratio down a bit. i would go ahead and get eagle rods then...
