radiator fan stays on
hey, i'm asking this question for my friend...he has a 91 predlude si and his radiator fan stays on for like 20 minutes after he shuts off the car...anyone know why it does this? and a way to fix it?
replace thermostat its old and probably doesnt allow coolant through as freely causing the motor to heat up more than normal. tell him to replace it with a fail safe thermostat, if that breaks, it will break in the open position so that you dont over heat the motor.
tell him to check out other prelude specific sites that will cater more to the 3rd gen prelude

I've got a 1991 SR and the fan stays on for 7-10 minutes after I've shut off the engine even when it is cool outside. I've asked the same question and people say 7-10 min is normal. 20 min sounds long to me. Try changing the termostat and see if it goes off earlier. It may be that the tempreature sensor is bad too.
