What are you guys using to lock your hoods, padlocks or what? Just looking for some ideas.

 

I can't think of the official name, but they're a lock like in coke machines. You should be able to get them at lowes or a race shop maybe. They're smaller than on a coke machine, of course, but work the same way.

 

i had a chain lock on my car for a hood latch... i got it at pep boys for $8.99.

 

I have this hornet hood lock that runs from the hood latch to the inside of my car with a key hole. If the key is positioned to lock and someone tries to open the hood via manually or the hood release, the hood lock grabs the hood and shuts it even tighter. My friend who works for an audio video security place got it for me.

 

I don't know if this will work but I was thinking about getting a simple solonoid that is used to lock or unluck doors. and place it a way that it blocks tha path of the mechanism from opening. Hook it up to a simple on off switch that would only get power with the key in the ignition. That should work.

 

I use a chain the same size as MR T's necklace connected to a LB445NS Retinal Scan Security Lock. But sometimes when I am lazy, I just use my stock latch.

 

I use a Schlage deadbolt that was removed from my house. There is also a peephole just above it.

 

I have seen locking hood pins that have special keys that come with them. They mount about flush on the hood and look kinda cool, I dont remember where I saw them. Id try doing a search for locking hoodpins or something like that.

 

Go to a Domestic Shop. They have those flushmount Hoddpins with a little key to lock them. You know domestic guys, they always come out with that dope *** USDM sh*t. Or buy some SPARCO hood pins, they are fairly cheap and they are easy to mount if you have a drill.
