Need any input on a cel 8 after d15b and mpfi swap
I wired up someones car for mpfi when I dropped in the d15b, well the car ran fine around my house when I would test drive it but always had the cel 8 after the swap. I tested the car about 5 times before the guy came to pic it up. Well he left and about 20 miles down the interstate he calls saying the car just died out. Anyone have any imformation that might help me figure out the the problem is? thakns

Sorry I didint mention but I knew it was the tdc, would that cause the car to die out on the interstate. What dose the sensor look like? I put my dizzy on and I still got the cel 8, but I forgot to reset the ecu. I just pisses me off that I drive this guys car around a **** load of times to make sure its running good which it was then 20 min after he leave hes calling me saying his car died out on the interstate.
This happend to my friend who did a si swap in his dx cr-x and it ended up being an unplugged sensor (tdc) plugged it in and it fired right up
honestly without knowing how it died out, i wouldnt be able to tell you, how was the car running when you were driving how was it running when he drove it, does it start now? did the timing belt go? what cam is in it? what d15b motor is it? i need answers to those questions and i might be able to help. and also check around the motor, see if there is any plugs that arent plugged in, besides the obvious ones that arent used when you go mpfi.
Its a jdm d15b sohc vtec, stock motor pm6 ecu, I test drove the car about 5 times to make sure nothing was gonna **** up, the only cel was the 8 and it didint affect the way the car ran. I asked him if he needed the car soon or if I could have it for about 2 more days because I wanted to make sure that everyting was ok and if something screwed up I could take the parts of my pm6 z6 and to and try to find the problem, but he said he needed the car asap. He picked the car up at about 10:00 and at about 10:45 he called saying he was going down the interstate and the car stared to die out then finally it did. Where is the tdc plug on a pm6 dizzy ? is it the the two blue wires that c1 and c2 hook up to? I have wired about 4 ef's for my freinds and none ever had a problems, why dose this have to happen to the one person that payed me to do the swap
Could the timing have jumped? I played hell try to find a timing belt that would fit, so The best one was a 94 vx belt an on the water pump side i got it pretty tight along with the exhaust side, but on rotating down side of the belt it would slap some when you reved it up kinda high. Could he have been hauling *** doing a 4th gear redline and the belt have jumped timing since this happend on the interstate.
