shifting question??
i have an 89 accord 5-speed.....when im racing i shift from 1st ---2nd at about 6,000rpms...what kind of tear am i putting on my car...the clutch isnt slipping and the engine runs great just want to know what will i have to do to keep engine in good condition while shifting at red line..some said i would have to keep re adjusting the valves?? please help..i am new to the honda world...and i love it...
yeah, and keep your oil on checks, cause bouncing off the redline burns more oil than normal driving, and oil cooler would be good, plus if the car is still stock i would not be doing this, the stock exhaust tends to hold in too much heat....
yeah its pretty much stock except for the intake....what do you mean by heat on exhaust???i dont mean to sound like an idiot but really want to know the ropes and dont want to do any thing stupid like blow up my engine...and i have noticed that since i have been red lining it the oil level keeps getting lower...
away from what? theres always gonna be heat....just more when u drive harder....if u want to keep ur engine cooler thats a different story which u can get new coolant 50/50 mixture...higher pressure radiator cap..ect...try to switch to a synthetic oil....10w30 .... mobil 1...i use 5w30 on my gsr and i've been burning it up! but when i first got my car i used 10 W30 and didn't burn up anything....i still have 5w30 dont' know why....
