H22A DOHC VTEC will not fit in your 89lx or 91ex without _MASSIVE_ fabrication in the engine bay. For your 89lx or 91ex, you can always drop in '88-91 Prelude 2.0 Si motor for about 25hp gain... this should be, more-or-less, a bolt-on process. FYI, a H22A motor will bolt on to 94-96 Accord... and hit high 14's with good driver. If you want a fast-car go w/ 92-95 Civic hatch w/ B-series DOHC VTEC. Just my two cents.

Where are you getting your info from Cosworth? I've heard the H22 goes into the 4th gen Accords easier than the 5th gens. A 2000 H22 easily dropped into my 1992 Accord's engine bay. Other parts have been a pain in the *** though. I've had to purchase axels, power steering pump and bracket, ECU, fuel rail, and fuel injector from a 4th gen Prelude.

um no, the h22a is very easy in the 4th gen accords. 90-97 accords are easy swaps for someone who knows what they are doing. i've seen h22's in more 4th gens then 5th gens by far.

so yes you can put this h22 in your 91ex and you'll be sitting pretty.

OBD2 to OBD1 ain't that hard. Actually, you are better off going OBD1 than trying to stay OBD2. What you will need is your Accord Wiring harness, a distributor from an OBD1 prelude, and injectors. The rest should work out just fine.
