bad corrosion around the spark plug...HELP
ok as i posted yesterday i had water in the spark plug cylinders...i gotten most of the water out of that area..now i got another problem...bad corrosion and rust around the several of the spark plugs and im aving trouble cleaning them out...im afraid of the corrosion particles falling into the combustion chamber...what should i do...please tell me i dont have to tear down the whole motor...should i invert the motor on a motor stand and remove the plugs upside down??...thanks for any help...
Inverting the motor should work well, but I'd be worried about trying to stand it on its head without damaging the valvecover. If you don't have access to compressed air then that just might be what you'll have to do... for sure, you're not going to be able to get out all the particles by blowing them out or sucking them out.
If you had a really thin vacuum attachment you could probably use that... maybe you could jerry-rig something?

well its not actually going to be sitting on its valve cover but on a motor stand that actually bolts to where the tranny would be...then u could turn it upside down since the motor stand can swivle...so its like suspending it upside down then i can take out the plugs while laying on my back or something and let gravity keep either water or rust particles from getting into the motor...
I suppose you could try it then. It's going to be nasty underneath a motor hanging off a cherrypicker, scraping at little bits of rust, but it'll be all worth it!!
