Default How do I get rid of swirl marks and light scratches?

Hey guys, I'm gonna be getting my JDM Front soon and I didn't want to have a freshly painted front with swirlmarks everywhere else. Anyhow, the roof, tailgate, and rear bumper is getting resprayed also. I'm having the dent man remove all the little dings and dents.

The thing is, I want to do it myself to save some extra money. A couple of people suggested wet sanding the car down.

What do you guys think?

Wet Sand, then alphra grit, then buff the car, then take a foam pad to get rid of the swirls but wait a while on the newly painted stuff.

Thats pretty harsh...

I would say some nice, low abrassive, like Meguiars scratch-X or some 3M would do the trick for swirls and very light scratches.

I tried the megiurs scratch X.. and I can only see the swirl's on my roof of my civic from one angle.. compared to almost every angle before.. I might try it again in a few weeks.. and I gotta say that clay bar crap is awesome .. I never knew I can clean my car so much

I'm not doing anything on the newly painted stuff. Mostly my door and rear quarter panels. Everything else is gonna get resprayed.

I have a black ITR and here is the look I'm going for.

JDM Front End
Replica Spoon CF Front lip *No use buying spoon because I'll scrape it anyways*
Stock JDM Hood with red H emblems
Debadged ITR decals
Shaved "Acura" in the rear hatch
Shaved roof washer squirter
I'm not sure if I want to shave the antenna or not
The rear will have one red "H" emblem and factory bumper

Should look very nice. It's going in the shop next week.
