tires:Kumho Ecsta Supra 712
Don't recommend them. I do a lot of racing and the Kuhmo's on my 1st outting almost got me killed in the canyons. Plus they don't grip on launches. My factory Bridgestones grip at 2500rpm. The Kuhmos grip at 2000rpm. Beyond that they on spin. Get the Falken Azenis sport if they have ur size. Treadwear is fairly good for such a high performance tire.
the kumho's are good in their price range. no one can really match the pricing on them. you could have a set of 4 for the price of 2 bigger name brands.
tires are important but it's what falls in your budget.
i've had them and i recommend them. however, you can't really compare them to the azenis as it's a totally different purpose tire. driving in the rain with the kumho's are no problem at all. can't say the same for the azenis.

I use 712s on my si rims. Good street tire for the price. They suck in snow but perform pretty good in rain and dry streets. But they dont really do too well for launching. Id suggest these for the daily driver.

I guess you didn't use the Bridgestone RE92s over 15000 miles, right? After that, they totally suck. My snow tires offer better grip off the line than RE92s.
To Smooth97Lude: Tthe Falken Azenis is a really good choice given the fact that you live in Alabama (you don't get much snow, do you?). The Azenis is a dry-weather tire with grooves, really grippy. The Kumhos are pretty good for the price, go with kumho if you are on a tight budget (the Azenis is about $20 more per tire).

I'm also on the Kumho's - they're pretty good, especially for the price. Good wet performance, pretty good dry grip, decent treadwear. They do track grooves more than the stock tires, which is to be expected, but they're fairly comfortable.
One thing I've noticed is that although they started off nice & quiet, a little more than halfway through their life (~10k miles or so for me) they're making a significant amount of noise. The amount of noise is so annoying, I'm almost hoping they don't pass inspection in July so I'll be forced to get something new.
They're not quite as bad as my Yoko A520's were at the end of their life, but it's close.

Just remember... the only thing keeping your car on the ground is by your tires. I don't under people spending thousands of dollars on their cars and putting budget tires on it. Like, I know some people that buy three piece racing wheels or like ultra light Spoon rims and they'll try to save money by puttin Kumho's on it. Thats what we call "Ricer"
I see no need to buy really expensive tires with low treadwear ratings when all I do is drive to/from school with the occasional trip down a windy road. The Kumhos handle fine for me when inflated properly, which works best at 35/38 for me.

okay really quick one again.. does the kumho 711 have tire guard?? cause I have a set of 17 and I want to run 215-40-17 and the 711 seem to be pretty cheap but i'm not sure if they have rim guard.. so do they?
