Will my Spoon Oil Filter from my GSR fit Dc5?
i had thought that the honda/acura dealerships were using oil filters designed for b16's on the dc5/ep3 now, if that is the case wouldn't any b series filter work? I could be wrong, but I thought that I heard that a couple months back.
Uhm Spoon DOES NOT Make Oil Filters
Who told you it was made by Spoon and what does it look like? Only thing I can think of is that someone sold you a HAMP Filter claiming it to be made by Spoon.

LOL!

I think you are refering to the HAMP Type R oil filters from Japan, right? Spoon doesnt make an oil filter. The Dc5 filter is smaller than a GSR filter.

For what reason? They should fit fine.

Thread size and bypass PSI is the same. Although different dimentions, this oil filter fits. There is plenty of clearance back there.

They will fit. All Honda I4 from '88+ share a common thread diameter and pitch, as well as the gasket diameter. Only the can size of the filters is different.
I assume this is what you have:
Spoon uses them, but they are HAMP. Honda After Market Parts. They are made by Toyo-Roki, and are way better than the blue US market OEM Honda filters.
This is the RSX/EP3 filter:

You are lucky. I haven't been able to find those for a couple of months at any dealer here in San Diego. Every dealer I have been to has the crappy OEM filters made by Fram.

The RSX and Integra filters are interchangeable. They look different but look at the base of the filter, it's the same, the overall diamater. Honda released a press release on this, the smaller and larger filter are interchangable.
As of now, Honda has discontinue the original integra oil filters. They now share the same small oil filter as the rsx. If you doubt me, just call you local acura dealer and ask for the oil filter part number for both cars.

I bought like 10-15 last time i went to the dealership for them and that was probably also a couple months ago. Maybe i should've gotten more.

No, seriously, they just do not do crossreferencing due to warranty issues.
