Accord/TSX Engines?
Just out of curiosity, what engines are the 4-cylinder Accords and the TSX using? I've heard mention of both H- and F-series engines with the Accord and I have no idea which it's using.
And if it is F-series, how interchangable are its parts with an S2000's? (S2000s do use F20Cs, right?) Is it B-series-like? I was just wondering if that's how they'd do the 2.2L in the new S2200, and why they didn't just go for the 2.4L like the TSX's engine.
Thanks.

Yeah, I already am pretty amazed that the K24 redlines at 7100, and peaks horsepower at 6800, it has a 87mm x 99mm bore/stroke ratio. I don't see how it can safely rev any quicker and stay reliable.
Anyways, it's an engine built for economy and emissions: I got 36mpg on my 2nd fill, while still breaking in.

hey sauceman...how do you like the TSX? I'm strung between an 04 Accord Coupe EX 5spd (non-v6) and the TSX 6spd. The kicker is of course financial (5k US down vs. 10k US down). Doh.
I'm amazed that your getting 36mpg...based on Acura's mpg figures...all highway?

Thanks. BTW, what did the previous Accord 4-cylinder use?

If ever you have a chance at buying the TSX, don't miss it, it is the sportiest Accord I've ever driven, and the best handling of Accords, Civics and Tegs, IMO (mind you, I have never test driven an ITR). I had to avoid someone who fried his stop about 75ft in front of me, and I steered (understatement) my way around without any difficulty, and without any understeer.
RobertMcDonald: The 6th gen accords had the F23A1, F23A4 engines in.
