WARNING: To all people WITHOUT front license plate
Just heard on the news that if you are stopped without a front license plate after today you WILL be issued a ticket. They said that the front license plate is needed for the cameras that they now use to be effective. They said the LAPD will now be enforcing this new rule to the fullest extent. The news also mentioned that "people with sports cars do not like the look of a license plate" and I definitely agree. Oh well, I guess I'll have to put mine on.
Just a heads up guys, I'd hate to see a bunch of people get tickets because they didn't watch the 11 o'clock news.

heh, i've experienced this first hand.
while in santa monica, i was ticketed with 3 other people in my car. I like how my car causes so much attention, its not like i was the only asian guy with 3 other peeps in my yellow car, without a front license plate. cops =

i agree. thanks for the info. i hadn't heard that.
i guess i had better put that garbage back on. on a side note, a buddy of mine got ticketed at the long term parking of LAX for no front license plate.

So if we have a JDM front end, how are we supposed to put on the plate. I mean the holes are in the wrong places. Does anyone make an adapter bracket?
Also i knew you could get a fix it ticket, but do you mean you can get a moving violation ticket?

plates, we don't need no stinking plates.
i guess i'll take my chances. bad enough that at certain angles my plate magically disappears. haven't had trouble yet. if ya want to see what i'm talking bout come to the expo.

Certain cars look ok with a front tag.... the ITR does not. IMO
I am glad I live in N.C. :no front tag:

I just keep the front plate in my car under the passenger seat, If I get pulled over I tell them that the car just had some body work there and that they had to order the mounting bracket and it hasnt come in yet
It works 99.9% of the time.

NOTE: The same thing has happened in Northern Californa Bay Area also. You are now REQUIRED to have a front plate, though many people still don't have one (like me).

We're supposed to have front plates in Ohio too, but they don't really crack down. I see sooooo many people w/o them and w/ the stupid cartoony-type "fillers" in the place of the plate. Like a baseball team logo, ect...
Hell I lost mine in all the crap in my car. We are suposed to have them up front in MN but I haven't had mine on for about a year. One of my frineds has never had one on. They are talkin about bringing that damn camera system here, great I don't want to but my stuff back on, that is if I can find it again HEH
Cant you just put it between the crack of the windshield? I put two suction cup things with hooks and mount them that way.
Now I'm fuct. A friend just got a ticket yesterday for not having the front plate on the bumper, but instead had it rammed behind the rear view mirror. Mine is actually more visible from here then on the bumper. I don't want to drill holes in my bumper:
MintyDip: Don't mention it. ARGH!@#$ I do not want to put it back on, but in this case I want to avoid a ticket so I will bite my toungue. I guess it doesn't really matter anyway, I dont drive my car anymore......3 nails in 3 different tires=garaged car
During their broadcast they only mentioned the LAPD. This would make sense because those cameras still have not made it everywhere. In my area there are no such cameras, but that doesnt mean that they will still not give you a ticket for no front license plate. I am just going to be putting it back on because I heard of countless people getting tickets for not having one even in areas where there are no cameras. What I'm afraid of is that now that they are doing this in LA, cops of a different area will start to enforce this license plate deal with much more persistance.
The rule for my area is that the license plate can be no farther than 16" off of the ground. So it looks like I'll have to find a nice home for my plate inside my car. Its under my seat now, but I guess I could attach it to the rearview mirror.....anyone know how to do this.

No, you cannot put it in the window. The code states that it must be in the stock location to be legal (I asked when I got my ticket). The interpretation of this, as with almost everything, depends on the cop who nails you and what kind of mood they are in.

FL has no front plate either
When I was in college in NJ, I interned for a PD (criminal justice major) and they LOOK for missing front plates...not to bust your ***** about it, but (and it makes sense) that most people who don't give a $#!T about a front plate also don't care to pay tickets and have warrants...kind of a shotty theory, but it was the damn truth...
