somebody is sellin me a GSR tranny and i wanted to know how an LS tranny looks like so i can tell whether its a GSR or LS tranny. i dont want to get ripped.

 

It should have a VIN on it which you could run and see what car it came from. As far as looks, I thought they looked the same or close. The only real difference I know between them is the longer gearing in the LS.

 

3rd thru 5th is longer in the LS i think. i heard that 1st and 2nd (the gearing ratios that is) are the same however. correct me if im wrong

1st and 2nd are the same....but remember....different final drive.

 

well i know that gearings are different but im gona be there to take a peek at it and i wouldnt know if its a LS or GSR...

I believe that is correct. you. can not tell them apart cosmetically
