simple. b20 vtec 11.5 - 12.0 compression pistons, stock rods, stage 2 cams with valve train reinforcements. youll be sittin nice. dont forget about traction. i ran a 14.50 @ 95 mph with faulty ignitor in my distributor on cheap *** street tires. i know i get into the mid 13s now with traction.
there was a guy runnin a 93 hatch ls/vtec boerd to 84mm 12.0 pistons stock head layin down 185 whp runnin high 12s - Low 13s on slicks.
good luck. b20 ONLY WaY to Go.

I don't know what most of you guys are doing? Most of the B20 with compresson 11.0+ and b16 vtec heads i have seen have trouble getting much over 170whp and 140ft ibs of torque to the wheels. I don't know what we are not doing it is realy wired.

All you guys are claiming 190 to the wheels etc. Just out of curiosity could you post your dyno results (including graphs) and also what your mods are. Cause i am in the middle of a rebuild and i want to know what you are doing.

My setup currenlty...i am putting 170whp and 140ft ibs torque

B20 bottom end
Stock rods, crank
JE 11.1 pistons
B16 vtec head (b16 internals) head
B16 intake manifold and TB
SIR Tranny
CM stage 3 clutch
Modified ECU
DC sports 4-1 headers
Modified LS distributer

What else do i need to hit 200whp?

I want to hit this after my rebuild but how? what am i doing wrong?

And for the topic, Last summer without the headers my best was
14.05 @ 98.3mph, 2.214 60ft

Weight 2270 Ibs

Running with stock exhaust on a 96 honda civic cx hatch, and 185 60 14 dunlop sport A2 rubber. Full interior, stock suspension etc.

That was one run. But everytime i went down the track i was runing between 14.1 and 14.3

What cams are you running??
Lose the TB and IM, go ITR.
I think you could get up to 190 with some tuning....

friend on this board ran a 12.4@110mph in his eg. eg was not gutted, had power windows/doors. the 12.4 was with a 2.0 sixty foot which meant he had plenty of potential left for a 12 flat run.

stock itr tranny, b20 with endyn rollerwaves, ctr/itr cams, valvetrain. that's about it running a chipped skunk2 ecu.

we ran 14.0 in a 97coupe, full interior

stock jdm b20 bottom end
stock 1g b16 head
ctr cams
stock 99-00 b16 intake manifold
jdm dc 4-1 header
short ram intake
aem ems
Gsr tranny w/quaife

the car has 13's in it... ran 14.0 ****** up the launch and having to granny shift into 2nd b/c of a fucked up tranny

it put down 183hp and 135tq.

that motor is prolly fucked now cause the damn cam gear keyway somehow fucked itself and added about a deg or 2 advance on the intake cam and we had NO room for error on the cam gears cause we didnt cut the valve reliefs..... oh well

that motor ran 13.8 in a EH2, full interior and it was making 168hp at that time, stock cams, itr intake manifold dc 4-2-1 header and chipped ecu. same block and head though

A friend has B20/B16 combo. JUNIII's and full JUN valvetrain w/ Portflow head, bult bottom end w/ 12:1 compression, SMSP B20/VTEC header and Mugen ECU. 230whp and 156wtq. It's in a gutted 92 CX. It's never seen the 1/4 and he doesn't plan on it either.
