ok im having a problem with my a/c. its been like this for a few months but i haven't tried to use my a/c up until recently. here's the problem. when i turn the a/c on it will blow cold air for about 10 minutes then blow hot air. then it will start again a few minutes later. i can hear and feel it turn on. when it comes on i can feel a slight drag on the motor, and when its sitting at idle at 900 rpm it drops to about 400 rpm and almost cuts off when the a/c comes on. i can also hear a popping noise coming from under the hood when it comes on. when my car was in the body shop they tested it and he said when it turns on the compressor blows full blast then cuts to full vacum when it turns off. he also noticed i saw low on freon so he charged it back up. he told me it happened to his wifes accord and it wasn't that much to replace. two different a/c places i talked to said it was the pressure actuator switch most likely. has anyone had this similar problem or know how to fix it? obtw its a 94 lx with 149k miles. thanks

take it to a a/c shop. thats your best shot.

 

Do both the cooling fans work?

 

could it be your condenser? regardless you should take it to a shop that knows what they're doing

 

nah its not my condenser. i have a brand new one in there. they replaced it along with my radiator cause it got damaged in the accident i had a few months ago. well i was hoping that someone else may have had this problem. all the shops i talked to said that i could bring it in and they would charge me to look at it.
