Question about JG engine dynamics
Has anyone ever been there and had work done. I have a 98 GS-R and I want to keep the thing naturally aspirated. So the only way I can generate power besides bolt-ons is through head work right? So I was wondering what kind of things can get done and for how much, from people with experience. I know I can do things like port & polish, pistons, cams, rods, and stuff like that. What about a good performance chip. What kind of things are good for good power and a decent price?
Stay away from JG engine dynamics!! When they were just coming up they did have their moment and did great things with engines. Taking their time doing quality work. Now, after gaining popularity they arent putting attention to details, they want you in and out after taking your money. Heres a personal experience from a good friend. He lives here in the bay area and he took his car to JG, they built his motor as they said they would, but forgot to hook the oil pump up!! He spun a rod 3,000 dollars later. Please avoid a headache and take your motor somewhere else, like atomic, portflow, etc.etc. BTW they do their best work for people they know or are good friends with, otherwise you get the rookie headporter and installer.
i was going to go to JG but their costomer service sucked. the lady just blew me off when i called to ask about their products. She practially yelled at me so i was like F*$% her and went to Gude. Bill Gude was pretty cool to do business with.
Anyone recommend good places either in the north bay or in the west LA area. I live in the north bay, but I go to school in Westwood. So I could take my car in either location.
Skunk2, Portflow, Atomic, Endyn

I had mine done by JG. Other than it taking a couple months to do.. it seems like it went rather well. I never dealt directly with them and didn't harrass my shop everyday to call them.. don't want them rushing it and jacking someting up.. so far no bad experiences...
JG or Bensons were my two choices at the time... but my shop deals with JG more, so I went with what they recommend.
What i had done was sleeves, 9-1 compression aries pistons, saenz rods, knifeedged crank, tig welded blockguard, decked surface, cleaned, bearings and seals, balanced and blueprinted... 2700 dollars later.. boosting away once again!!
