Best/Cheapest place to buy ZC motors for 88 CRX Si
I just recently bought a 88 CRX Si ...beautiful car, although it has high engine miles, 220000. I'd like to drop in a ZC motor in a few months cause i heard its the easiest swap. And it is also more in my price range since you dont have to buy a new tranny, ecu, and/or axels.
My ideal engine would be a B16A but that would require new motor mounts, etc. and would be like 2000-2500? to do that engine drop in?
So with a ZC i think it could be done for $1000 or less? I believe i visited a ZC swap page where he paid $550 for his engine.
So anyone that knows where i can get a ZC engine for a good price let me know...
The only online store i know with ZC engines is http://www.hmotorsonline.com
an 88-91 SOHC ZC longblock Price: $ 450.00 Plus shipping and handling.
Any better deals than that? Would the SOHC ZC longblock be the way to go or get the DOHC? Will this engine drop right in no changes?
Thanks - Eric

hmotorsonline gets my vote; i just finished my ZC swap. just make sure you understand that things break during swaps, and that you will find problems that you didn't know were there before. I paid $700ish including shipping, + dizzy, rad hoses, new clucth, resurfaced flywheel, bearings, etc. so $1000 seems a little under budget to me. I spent around $1400 getting it in & running. I still have to get a valve adjustment & all, but the ZC is def more powerful than my dying A6. Good luck.
http://www.nippon-motors.com.......or something of that nature. they were great. did a complete leakdown and compression check before sending. i think i paid 900 shipped. but keep in mind like the other guy said, you'll see a hundred things to fix while installing your engine, set some money aside for that. plus, your going to want a pm7 ecu after you figure out that that engine is still pulling hard at your old ecu's rev cut off. just do your research and you'll be fine. good luck
