Default Can I lower the boost w/ my internal wastegate?

im starting the buildup, and im going to be running a 14b (tdo5h). internal wastegate is set at 8psi, and eventually i will be running 8spi, but im considering starting out w/ 5psi just to play it safe, and make sure everything is running good.

Ive heard you can adjust the spring, but I will be installing the turbo, then running it for a while, then upping it to 8psi once 5psi isn't enough. im used to all n/a hondas, so im sure 5psi will be enough to float my boat, and safety is my number one concern. if i cut or get a different spring or lengthen the rod or whatever you do, ( i dont know! ) can i undo it or do a different a spring when the turbo is in the car? i really appreciate your help.

probobly will be running a tinker219 SS log style manifold, 14b, 1g dsm bov, boost code ecu chip, dsm450s, and the likes...thanks for everyone's help.

oh yea...its on a 9.6-9.7c/r b17 w/ 120xxx.

the end of the rod/arm that is connected to the exhaust side of the turbo can be adjusted by screwing it in or out...its hard to explain...just look at your turbo and wg and you'll know what we mean...

dan they are talking about adjustable wastegate actuator arms. i doubt yours has a threaded arm on it with two nuts to lock it. look at it when u get a chance or send me some pics and ill tell u if u can with urs. i know you can always thread it and make it adjustable but its always good to check first to see if you already have it. look up about grand national turbo's they have the adjustability to their turbo's from the factory.

Or you could make/buy a Joe p manual boost controller for dirt cheap... works like a charm.

You can't lower boost with that, only increase... right?
