Hi,

I'm new to this forum, but it seems that there is a lot of info that could help me.

I'm from guatemala, and I'm looking for a magazine that isnt like motor trend or road & track, that reviews mostly hondas and proyects of hondas and maybe acuras or other compacts.

Some friends recomend me some magazines,

SPORT COMPACT CAR
HONDA TUNING
TURBO
IMPORT TUNER
SUPER STREET

Out of this, which you think is the best magazine relating hondas,

Thanks for the recomendation, I do plan to stay here and read and post as much as I can, but living in guatemala limits a lot of stuff, including photos and information that could be in a magazine, I like forums a lot, but I'm looking for a magazine that could complement the knowledge you get in a forum. But thanks for your suggestion,

Thanks for your recomendation, I'm between honda tuning and sport compact car. But I'm still open to suggestions

 

I like Sport Compact Car and Super Street. Both are ok for Honda material.

 

If we're talking just hondas, I would go with HONDA TUNING, but you only get 6 issues a year and it can be skinny at times b/c not enough pages.

If we're talking modding in general, I'd go with SCC. They have some good articles an reviews.

If we're talking rice, I'd go with Super Street.

I like Sport Compact Car, Import Tuner has gotten really ricey. The new SCC tests the 2fast 2 furious cars, shows how slow they actually are, that and they have the voting for the new Ultimate Street Car challenge, theres some nice Eg Hatches in it too

 

Sport Compact Car is the only semi-okay one.

 

I like SCC, for just general car info and entertainment. I also have gotten Honda Tuning, which does have some good tech info, but it is pretty thin on good material usually. The upside, is that whatever info it does have is going to pertain to Hondas.

 

Honda Tuning used to be 6 issues a year but now they're 12 like everyone else.

I stopped reading magazines and started reading the internet when I realized the 80 dollars a year I spent on mags I could of bought a new apexi air filter with.

Oops, my bad. I just checked and it is 12 issues a year. They still are pretty thin though.

 

Thanks to everyone for the replies, great forum, very fast feedback, I appricate all the comments and sugestions.

I was checking hondatuning and SCC, and it appears that it is made by the same people, but do you think the publish the same articles on the monthly basis. Do anyone know if the same articles are pubish in HT and SCC, or they are different?

Usually they are different. I do remember a couple of times reading articles that sounded very familiar, so they may use some of SCC's material in HT, but HT will always have unique info.

 

Which Hondas do you want to read about?? New ones(01-up) or old one (00-down)? A lot of the magizines now have new cars. I have a 94 coupe and I don't really like reading about an intake that gives 15hp to a RSX. But that's just me!

 

I like to read all about hondas, new and old.

But I have a honda EX 93 coupe, and thats the car that I want to read to make future tunings, but I also want to buy a RSX in the future, so anything of this could be a plus also.

I agree, SCC is pretty good about staying away from all show car reviews.. I loved the 2F2F car review because my car is actually faster than all of those expensive cars, except the two 13 second cars...

Sport Compact Car is my choice.

I dn't care what anybody else says...but I love reading Dave Coleman's articles.

They are covering a range of vehicles these days, with the new rave on 240's and such...but it's still a good overall magazine.
