I've been taking apart my old motor and finding that all my gaskets are metal... Did the civic come stock with metal gaskets??

Your car had metal gaskets. The intake and t/b gasket is always made of paper. Little FYI for you, the 88-91 civics had paper head gaskets, that had to be retorqued after the engine has warmed up. Man those motors are a PITA.

 

Not all of the honda head gaskets post 91 are metal, we just took apart a 92 CX and it had a paper/metal head gasket (and 8 valves! ugh!)

 

92-95 ex and vx are metal-

i had an ex and my head gasket was three layer.... my header gasket was 2 layers....
