JDM headlights for EG, will not fit EG with an H22 motor?
I got an H22 in an EG, and I just got a set of jdm headlights and the right driver side headlight would not fit. Because of the big motor, the alternator sticks out too far, therefore the lights cannot be inserted properly. Is there a fix, I was planning to cut a hole in the rear housing of the light so it won't hit the alternator but there's a light height adjustment at that corner so that beats cutting the light out. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Are you sure your putting it in right? I am almost posative that
the usdm and the jdm headlights are the same exact shape and
size. Do your stock headlights fit okay?

just put the usdm ones back on...when shifting the alternator belt will keep hitting the city lights and its not worth the hassle of constantly replacing the alternator belt...especially if you're not close to home or an auto parts store...it happened to me
dont shave it down...i'd sell them and buy something useful
because the most peeps probably can not tell the difference b/w the usdm and jdm ones anyways...if you want shock value with the headlights get some HID's...that'll probably be my next comestic mod

can i get a pic of that? i have never heard of this problem before? but did your oem headlights fit before you tried to install the jdm ones?
dude, just get a shorter alternator belt. and then adjust the position of your alternator. VERY simple. $10 for a simple belt.
those that say to buy something else or shave.

JDM EG headlights.... modified the H4 bulbs from my HIDs to work in them. Fits just fine with the HCP mount kit (very close, but still clears), and using a stock 92-96 Prelude alternator belt. With the HCP mount kit, it places the motor back further towards the firewall, thus giving you more clearance up front and making the axles as straight as possible w/out sacraficing on the motor position, oil pick up or alignment of the chassis.
BTW, with lots of racing on the track (even with 100 shot of NOS) and on the road race course, the alternator has never touched the headlight assembly.
You are a fucken idiot, don't reply to me ever again. How the **** are you suppose to use smaller alternator belts you fucken dumb ****. Your a stupid *****.
So you want me to get a new alternator belt a 92-96 belt right, but I don't have HCP mounts. I got Hasport I believe, and I did not understood you when you said change the HID's, its not touching the sockets or the HID's. When I put it into place it touches right on the lamp adjustment, round with teeths in them. So does this mean I cannot fix my problem?, your very helpful by the way. I think I heard about you, are you Derrick's friend? thanks, waiting for your feedback

wow... calmn down man, I'm pretty sure he said to use a smaller belt so the alternator can be pulled back a slight bit possibly allowing the lgihts to fit a little better.. that's jsut what I got from it anyway, I have not first hand experience
