jdm A Sports fender brace install on EK
here are the pics of the install. it was fast and easy.
1. take off your side rocker panel to reveal two bolts holding the bottom of your fender.
2. take off remaining bolts (10mm) holding the fender and remove your fender from the car. don't forget about the bulb harness to your jdm ctr sidemarkers.
3. attach A Sports fender brace to the two lower door hinge bolts and one upper door hinge bolt (12mm) and the two allen bolts to the frame.
4. reinstall fender and enjoy the improved handling.
i took it on the highway with a friend and immediately noticed a stiffer turn-in and quicker steering responses.

aren't those bad if you get in a wreck? Do they not eliminate a crumple zone? i know alot of you dont care, but for those of us without other safety procautions, this might be useful information.
I dont autocross my car enough or at all to buy a chassis brace for it, much less im sure that will do wonders to your frame if you get into an accident...
not worth it imo. if I want better turn in ill buy a lexus, I am jealous of the fact I can bust a full on bitch on a 2 way street with an is and have to do a ****** 3 point turn with my si.

Im curious as to why it would be a hazard, it looks to me if u got in an accident it would reduce the front from crumpling up.

Objects that reinforce the chassis, do so by distributing load out over a wider range.

crumple zones are built into cars to absorb more of the impact than you will. it will slow the speed of the wreck before your body hits the airbag/dash/etc. if you get rid of the crumple zone, you take more force from the accident.

nice write up, good to see someone finaly do these, i think someone did a write up about their ef a few months back. these braces have been in japan for the last 15 years, in all the magazines too, im surprised no one else has done them
hes pretty much being a retard...
yes those all help **** your chasis up more in the event of an accident... but the strut tower bar really would be the only one that you wouldnt notice that effect from...
the bottom front strut brace and rear strut bars are stock peices and not really aftermarket, just beefier... **** like roll bars and floor braces and trunk braces...
all that **** can affect how the cardboard box of a chasis will fold in the event you push one place, a reinforcement will stiffen that crumple zone as stated above and take down another reinforced area with it...
in his case instead of his fenders getting owned on a head on collision that most likely will **** his doors up and his a pillars if hit from the side
