Default Head gasket question???

Is it possible to run only a single layer of the stock head gasket. I have seen people remove the center gasket with success but I want to go further. Are there pros and cons, how much cylinder pressure can the single layer handle, witch layer do I use etc. I dont need to hear about the cons of higher compresion!!!

The block and head must be perfectly flat/even other wise you will not form a tight seal when you torque it down.

So if you could have your block and head inspected and machined by a machine shop to perfect even spects, then you might be able to do it.

However single layer gasket will be more **** to failure, and you will have the greater chance of runing your block.

This is what happens when it fails:

damage to the head:
