ok i just put a d15b7 in my 91 hatch cause it had broke rod. i just used the b7 block and used the si tranny,harness,ecu,intake,motor mounts. it was kind of a tight fit putting the fuel injectors back in. i put new rubbers on the injectors. and i think they might have gotten into a bind. i dunno. and when i start it it jumps to five grand. and stays there. it tries to rev higher but i shut it off. what do yall think it is. i need this car running. want to finally drive my car.

 

throttle cable too tight?

 

i had the same problem. Throttle cable is stuck or too tight.

 

that happend to me, and drove me crazy, but it was the brake booster that came off, its a vac... on the back of the intake mali. its a big hole so u idle at like 5 grad try that

could it posibly be the injectors?? maybe its in a bind and making it lean it self out causing it to rev higher? ne one know?

 

could it possibly be the 02 sensor? i dunno know. it runs fine...just ildeing at
4.5 to 5 grand. i have know clue.ne one have ne idea. im running 95 dx block( d15b7. and 91 si tranny,intake,exhaust,wiring harness, altenator, motor mounts,ecu. and everything is hooked up except the block thermosensor on the back of the block( cause i guess the 92 up dont have it. cause its not there)

Did you check the throttle cable???

 

check the idle screw by the thorttle body?

 

i checked the throttle cable and its fine. it releases all the way. and i didnt thing that that screw on the throttle body could make a car lean it self out that bad that it idles at 5grand.

 

you gotta ahve a leak somewhere ,

if your throttle plate is closed. and your at 5k , you will blow up..

 

what exactly on the manifold could be getting that much vacume that it will make the car rev at 5k?

 

its fixed everyone..it was human error. the intake manifold still had half of the old gasket on it..i didnt seem to notice..and put new gasket on block. well i put it on there and it had a big gap there between block and intake. peeled off old gasket and works fine now.. finally i got to drive my new car.
