Yea, so I went to a party sorta out in the countryish part of Missouri last night with some car friends. There were 2 very large guys working security, and apparently a guy showed up who had stolen someone's Jeep a few days earlier....

they threw him over my friends C5 Corvette, scratching the hood and ripping off the lip, and he landed smack dab into the back of my Civic. I guess the guy they were wailing on was grabbing for something to fight back with...so he ripped off my rear wiper and scratched the window in the process. They were beating the **** out of him with a large mag lite, and of course, they had to miss and hit my car a few times... heres the aftermath.

I know these aren't good pictures. Theres a small dent on the lower hatch door, and two dents on the side door, one with paint chipped off. I figured they could pull the dents and repaint the quarter panel and hatch door, and I could just find a new Si hatch glass.








They really did beat the **** out of this dude. The officers were looking for his teeth at 1am next to my car... car thieves got whats coming to him, but at the expense of a few people's car bodies.

 

Kudos to those security guys. But I hope insurance will cover the damage.

 

did you talk to them and see if you could get your money's worth from the cops? That sucks it happened to your car...but 2 points for beatin the bad guys.

I'm an 18 y/o male in the city, even with the RS3 alarm full coverage insurance for the STOCKER Si is still $900/6 months. I can't afford it.


I filed a report with the cops, and I have everyone's name, so I'm gonna contact them and see if they wanna shell out for the damages, otherwise I'll have to get a lawyer or take this one where it hurts and move on. I haven't really decided what I'll do if they don't wanna pay.

boy, i wish my insurance was $150/month on my civic, it was 113 for liability, 206 for full coverage....my WRX is $260 for full coverage now...

My friend talked to some of the guys that were working "security", and they said to call 'em, so hopefully they want to shell out a little money, even if its just for the dent where the paint is chipped. I went out the other morning and it was already starting to oxidize.

The "security", aka two big guys there was just to make sure that no one got in a fight. In the year I've been going to parties with all these friends, theres NEVER been a fight, but the "security" starts one. Kinda shitty if you ask me, but hopefully it'll all turn alright. I'm just pissed I didn't get to see the thief get his *** beat first hand...

If only you had a video of the thief getting beat down. I'm sure that HT members would pay $20 for a copy.
