Default Clutch bleeding

Whats up with the clutch bleeding. i thought i had a leaky line, so i replaced it witha high pressure hose, and i seet he hose flexing, but its not really expanding, so its not like im losing pressure there. i pout at least 40 oz worth of fluid through it after fixing the leaky line, and it still has no pedal pressure. i dont get it. i mean is my clutch master cylinder going or what? my slave cylinder seems fine. i went through the bleeding procedures for like 4 hours trying to get some damn pedal pressure. help me please.

If you lost tension on the clutch pedal after you bleed it......you may have air in the system.

if you replace any part on the system...make sure there's no leak at all the joint/connections.

As for the bleeding, never dry out the clutch reservior......it's very small (compare to the brake's), so 5-6 step on the clutch pedal and you need to refill it.

Sounds like a bad master cylinder, although, if you stick your ear by the fire wall on the inside of the car, you should be able to hear air squirting out if its bad.

And when you say no pedal pressure....the pedal stays on the floor when you push it in, or it just doesn't feel like it used to....easiest way to tell if it's working at all, is see if the slave cylinder is pushing the throwout bearing fork.

It sounds like you have a bad master cylinder, but if it turn out to be a bad slave, I have an extra ITR slave in my garage. If you need it, let me know...

I assume you changed the clutch line becuase the pedal was starting to get mushy???? Might have been a sign that either you master or slave cylinder were going....

Good luck,
Aj

yeah i know, it was a 3 person process. i had one guy pumping the pedal, and then another watching the cup all the fluid was going into, as i was filling the resevior. i still dont get it.

it looks like u bleed the clutch correctly. even if you didn't, you should at least
get a lilttle pedal pressure.

it sounds like the valve in the clutch m/c is broken.

Yeah, I'd have to agree....and to save you a lot of time and man power next time....there is a company that's called Griot's Garage that sells a very nice one man pressure brake bleader that's about 69 bucks....well worth it if you blead your clutch and brakes on regular intervals....

It has a vacuum pump that sucks out all the fluid and holds it in it's own resivoir, all you need to do is pump it like twice and it'll completely suck out either of your resivoirs, but slow enough to shut the valve off....Good Stuff!!!!

Here's the link:

Later.

hmm. well the only reason why im bleding the system is because i recently got into an accident with the motor in another car of mine, and i swapped into my new shell.

(Not my ITR)

but i have a feeling that its my slave cylinder, and AJ hit me up, i need one quick tho. i hit a big tre avoiding wildlife, and it was more on the driver's side then passenger, but i was pretty sure i didnt hit the slave cylinder, but who knows maybe the jolt put a fracture in it or something. ill post pictures later. Thanks for your help guys. ill keep you all posted.

Thanks for the heads up, but i don't send things to people I dont know personally, unless the money is in hand or in my paypal account....so, I'm not worried about it...if I get money, then kool, if not, just the same, it just sits in my garage for that much longer.

Good looking out guys!!!!
