before having him automatically start replacing **** blindly there's other things he could check before spending cash. even down to checking if the spark plugs are tight...
ok here were the problems. it threw the fuel injection code, and the o2 code. i didnt know what the fi one meant, so i tryed the fuel filter... which was very nasty. then i did the o2. now it smokes worse then before. i looked at the pcv and it was disgusting. the valves also make some noise, but when i get on it a bit more they shut up. someone told me i might have a blown headgasket. but theres no coolant in the oil, or visa versa. gosh im at ends meet guys. any suggestions?

O@ sensor probably threw a code as a result of the fuel injection code. If your filter was all nasty then think about what got passed through to your injectors... nasty. So maybe they are gummed up and maybe sticking making a poor spray pattern. This may result in a bad misxture burn and makes your O2 receive unmanagable readings.
Try running some injector cleaner directly into the intake manifold. Get a spare length of vacuum line and hook it up the manifold where the fuel regulator normally hooks up. Pinch the other end (prevent vacuum leak) off and start the car. Put the pinched end driectly into the bottle of injector cleaner. Get ready to rev the car up as it will want to stall. It will smoke like crazy for about 10 minutes, but you will have some clean injectors. Maybe pour another bottle in the gas tank (as the bottle suggests) just to keep things clean.
Reset your ECU.
Change the PCV, air filter, plugs and everything else you might do in a normal tune up... sounds like that car has been neglected.

If one of your injectors are sticking, which is VERY likely the source of your problem, then spraying injector cleaner into the manifold will most likely not fix the problem. A sticking injector will definatly cause black smoke.
The simplest thing to do is pick up a set of injectors at your local u-pull-it yard. Dirt cheap, and will probably fix your problem.

WEll, if it's an electrical failure in the injector then I agree, but if it's just clogging and sticking (still running a little... a fried injector will run like super crap) then injector cleaner should eat away the gunk and free it up mechnically and it should be ok again.
i changed out my o2 and it smoked like crazy. but the engine light never came back on. so today i was driving on the interstate, and the engine light came on. i looked at the flashes and it was only 1 this time instead of 1 and 16. i dumped some of that fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank the other day. i guess ill get some more. i hope i dont have to change out the brand new o2 again.

Injector cleaner put though the tank, yes. But just spraying it into the intake manifold wont have much affect.

did you do any work on your car before this problem happened?
when i did my mpfi swap i got the same problems.
your o2 code will go off because the smoke contains oxygen since its water vapor. this will trick your o2 into thinking that the car is running super lean. (im assuming that its white smoke) my problem was that there was some gasket was still stuck on my manifold causing coolant to be sucked into the engine. i also had a code 16 because i wired the injectors wrong but sounds like you got rid of that.
