Will 17" wheels work good on a 89 CRX, or are 16"s better for this car? I also want to lower the car. Anyone have any good tire/wheel sizes and spring/shock combos for this 89 Si in dire need of a new stance? Thanks. PEACE OUT!
if you want any kind of performance, don't buy 17's....I've got 16 inch K1's on my rex and they're awful big. They're also rather light though. If you're going for looks I guess 17s, but like he said,it'll ride like a tank

I have 15" K1's and I think 16" rims would look better, but my car is a daily driver and I'll take the slightly higher sidewall over better looks.
15"s are plenty big for a Rex/Hatch

I have 17s on my rex it all depends on what your going for with the right mods on the suspension there not too bad...but most 17s are heavy so it will kill the performance mods...if your looking for show they look pretty darn good I think..tires would be 205/40 r17...make shure you dont drop the car too low and you wont rub another trick it a small amount of negative camber..the only 17 that wouldnt hurt the performance are made by centerline ultra light but they cost some bucks..
IMHO, go with 15's or 16's and make it a LIGHT wheel. I'm running 15x6.5 slipstreams with 205/50-15 Azenis for street and same size Victoracers for AutoX. I've also got a set of 16's with tires for sale, they look good, but the 15's ride better and are a couple lbs lighter. Keep with an overall tire/wheel combo that is about the same height as stock, if you go too tall, you kill acceleration, if you go too heavy, you kill acceleration. Keep that in mind. 17's are too tall for a Civic, period.
go to my site http://www.kindleracing.com and you will see what 17's look like on the home page.........if you like those, I'll sell them to you
