Ok, someone wants to sell me Type R pistons for my DOHC ZC. Should give me like 12:1 Compression. What do i have to do to get B-series pistons to work in my D-Series block, and how much $$ am i looking at to spend? Also what rods should I get? The ones for a B-series or the ones for a D-series?(Im wanting Eagle Rods). Thanks!

 

I am not sure, but I don't think p73 pistons in a zc block are a good idea and you should try asking th hybrid forum

 

No it won't work.

Your ZC has a 75mm bore while the ITR pistons are 81mm.

That alone says no it won't work.

 

i think you will have to bore out the block as the type r block has like 81mm bore or something and the a6 has like a 75mm, i think its too much of an over bore for the block to handle. im not sure on this though.

i believe the max bore on a d series engine is 80mm, i have heard of 81mm though not confirmed.

u could talk to some machine shops and see if they can bore ur cylinders..if the cost, replacement ratio is low..then go for it if u dont need transportation for a couple of weeks

determine the cost..not much is impossible with enough money

good point, money buys everything that can be bought, and more. lol. while your at it get a stroker kit and make some more displacement, talk to the guys at RSmachines.com they do a lot of the stuff your asking.

 

Well as far as I know it's impossible to go 6mm over in bore because you'd have no cylinder walls left.

The B series guys have to get completely new drop-in sleevs to go from 81mm bore to 85mm more (if I'm not mistaken) so again, I don't think it will work.

Let's just suppose for one second that it could work though - I'm sure the wrist pin location will still negate any thoughts of actually putting ITR pistons into a D block.

Why not just buy some good forged higher CR JE pistons?

If it's even possible (though I don't think so at all) to put ITR pistons in a D block, the cost to do so would make it a damn silly idea.

How much money are you trying to dump into that ZC?

 

well ive been thinkin bout this, and just the high compression ill be spending a lot of $$ on gas also, can yall tell me where to get some good high CR pistons from?
