ITR motor build Update *56k suicide*:
My ITR motor started getting rebuilt this weekend. I got my block back from the machine shop. They bored it to 81.5mm and also micropolished the crank. The pistons I'm using are JE 11.5:1 and Eagle Rods.
Here are some pics:
What do you do after you build an ITR motor?? The builder throws the owner of motor into the pool then spears the living **** out of him.
Videos(may need brightened but are very funny)*Right click--save as*:
*To adjust lighting in windows media player do this : View---now playing tools---video settings, then adjust the brightness bar*
Getting speared
I take flight

Anytime I Work on my car i Wear no Shoes!
I question the Reasoning behind Picking Eagle rods or even Using Forged Pistons When You could have gotten Close to same compression using Factory OEM Over Sized Pistons!

No kidding. I don't think it is the motor making the car fast, but the person driving it!
Nice pics.

The head that will be on it is what is currently in my car but its on a shitty block(bad rings). It gets me from A to B while the block gets done.
The head is an ITR head w/ Toda B cams, toda valvesprings and porflow rertainers.

I'm not on the "My eagle rods broke so i hate them" honda-tech bandwagon. ANY manufacturer has had their product fail, even the top of the line. Any product will fail eventually. Yes i could've gotten OEM pistons, but why settle for OEM when for a few more $$$ i could get forged which are much better than OEM. I knew my motor was only going to be apart once, so i wanted to build it w/ good stuff even though i was on a pretty tight budget.
I got the pistons and rods from ARI. http://www.autoraceparts.com. They have VERY good prices and great service.

Suprdave</TD></TR></TABLE>
I'm not sure of the exact piston-wall clearance but i can ask my friend who is building it, im sure he knows since he did the rings. Here is a pic of the spec's on the box, maybe you can figure it out w/ that?

Im not on that band Wagon Either, I was asking because it seems you went overboard On the parts you choose! For the compression your running It would make no differnce to have Run OEM, Being they can hold up with no problems! I am also assuming with That compression you will be around or under 200whp (depending on other parts), In which Eagle rods are way over kill!
I am just Trying to help, Seems like alot of People on this Site seem to think You must have Forged Pistons or Aftermarket rods, Because they dont understand that the OEM parts are not only Very Light, but Strong and Cheaper!

i think he made a good choice about the bottom end.. piece of mind is worth more than anything. the forged pistons will make more power with less detonation... period. and he will never outgrow the eagle rods or even have to think about them for that matter. i saw a set of stock rods sitting next to set of crowers this weekend. i could not believe the difference.

$115 to bore it to 81.5mm and also micropolish the ITR crank.
