Default Coilovers go thump thump =(

Just got done installing coilovers (Vspec) on my car (94 Integra RS), but when I go over bumps I can hear a thump sound coming from the back coilovers I think. It's not that loud, but noticable.

Any ideas what might be causing the sound? Thanks.

did you install them on stock struts ? and did you trim your bump stops ? more than likely it could be your bump stops hitting.

I agree. Sounds to me like a bumpstop problem.

oh well, I'll fix it later... is it bad to drive without them trimmed?

no, it really shouldn't hurt it. but it's something that you do wanna do. or else you're not getting the full potential out of your suspension system

Would they affect the amount of drop? If they do, then I rather keep them on because I have to keep the height setting since one of the height adjuster pieces are totally stuck so I have to keep it at the height it's at now... and it's a good height..

I just don't want to cut them and my car ends up sitting on the ground lol.

Supposedly VSpecs drop your car 1.5" on the tallest setting. I'm about 3/4ths up and it's about a 1.5" drop... I'm just wondering if it's because I didn't trim those things... any lower and my car will be a vacume (bomex kit on it)...

Anyways, thanks for the help everyone.

oh and by the way cutting your bump stops will not lower your car further they are just a way to stop your coilover from compressing too far. They will go lower when hitting a bump however since there will be less of a bump stop. Hope that helps

Interesting, I might just cut the rear since that's where the noise is coming from... but the ride is pretty damn bumpy lol.

I'm afraid the car will dip too low and the front end will rip off =/ (bomex kit).

Right now I have the car pretty low and I have yet to scrape anywhere... ran over some big holes too on accident and didn't scrape lol...
