Default Neon install on an RSX

I just ahd a few questions about how to install a neon kit on an RSX.

1.)Where should I run the wire through the firewall?

2.)What would be the best way to protect the wires from the heat of the exhaust where they pass within just a few inches of it?? Should I use header wrap on the Exhaust pipe, or should I wrap the wires in aluminum foil or something like that?

Thanks!!

i dont know about rsx's but my friends escort and my civic have holes in the upper driver side aprt of the firewall that you can run wires through. and i wouldnt worry too much about the heat, maybe just alumnum foil and seal it real good. i havent had any problems

If you are trying to be funny, grow up, who cares what someone else does to their car.

If you are serious, the point is to make a glowing effect under your car, which some people think is cool. If you have seen the fast and the furious, the 3 civics that hijack the semis have the same color neon kit as my friends car, so that is what it will look like, hopefully....

very educated. If you can't help him, shut your moulth. and the rsx has a bunge on the drivers side firewall.. run the wires, won't worry about heat think will be fine.
Also try a trcik switchplate, maybe something in the glovebox/armrest flush mount on the roof.. anything can look nice as long as it looks like you took the time to do it right, instead of post something like this kid just did.

exactly, no one really gives a **** if you think its gey or to fass and to furioussss. its not your car plain and simple. and for the install, like he said, you shouldn't really have any problem with it getting too hot, and do not wire it stright to the battery. good luck. it'll be $50 well earned.

Why shouldn't I wire it to the battery, b/c on the diagram that came with the neon, it shows connections like this

1) Battey + to switch
2.)Switch to transformer
3.)Transformer to neon 1
4.)neon 1 to neon 2
5.) Neon 2 to neon 3
6.)neon 3 to neon 4
7.)neon 4 to transformer

Thanks for the help so far guys!!

i think you would need it to come from battery to get enough current .. so cig lighter would definately NOT work. make sure you have an inline fuse too .. and as for as the diagram.. thats pretty much the way it should be done.

Yeah, it has a fuse, and it looks to be a pretty substantial looking thing. It is a little bit smaller than a spark plug I would estimate.

Thanks for the help!!
