Default CTR vs. GSR cams

how can you tell the differance between the CTR and the GSR cams and is there much of a differace between the two for added HP with no other internal mods and with the basic bolt ones?

physically if you look at the intake cam on the distributor side you will see two rings on the ctr camshaft.

The duration of the ctr cams makes them one of the aggressive of the oem honda family.

Good midrange to topend power for the price.

The only difference between the CTR and the ITR cams are that the CTR Intake cam has a 3 degrees longer duration on the VTEC Lobe compared to the ITR cam.

Edit: are you happy

3 degrees, up until 2000.... the '00/'01 ITR cams have the same 18' as the CTR's. its up through '99 that the ITR's had 15' duration.

yes you will see gains by dropping in ITR or CTR cams if your replacing GSR cams. You'll see decent gains by tuning and you will notice it from the stock GSR cams. So, if your wondering if you should do it....then yes if you want more power

was that change only on the 00/01 itr cams, what's the duration of the pre 00 itr cams? was there anything lower than 15'?

even if they did have a pic remember we are talking about mm here its gonna be very difficult to be able to tell them apart. I have stock b16 cams and Spoon Cams, i was comparing them u had to look very closely... the duration u can easily see but as far as the lift it wasnt so easy.

So if i swap a CTR intake cam into my UK ITR (with tuning) i should see some gains? The exhaust cam is the same right?
