jsut curious, i have seen some things on some threads that say some were, how do you tell???

 

I swapped a 93 VTEC engine into my 93 SI. It was the identical wiring harness. No wiring changes were needed at all.

well in my 92 i had to run 2 wires for the vtec solinoid, other than that it was just plug'n'play

(is it true that some 4th gen Si Ludes came prewired for VTEC??)

 

Yes it is true. 1993 and newer are already wired.
1992 Preludes were not. I think some late production cars in 1992 were wired for VTEC but I am not sure.

ok, so is it just wired to the shock tower already, or does the Si engine harness already have the VTEC and pressure sensor wires?

 

its wired from the shock tower to the ecu, and there is one dead plug on the shock tower that you just lengthen and that goes to the oil press IIRC, then you just have to wire in the vtec solenoid, and your good to go.

What color is this wire and plug?

 

some were and some were not prewired. i have seen a few that did have the vtec wires already but the swap i did into a 94si did not have the wires for vtec there.... i havent checked my S yet to see... i doubt it does though
