battery life
If my alternator was died, while my battery had a full charge, how long would the battery last, before my car died. I drive 2 hours a day i would say, maybe 30 of them are night time minutes
Most batteries have both cold cranking amps (CCA) and amp hours (AH) listed. The AH is how much amperage the battery can put out for an hour. With fuel pump, ignition, injection, guages, and maybe lights I would guess around 20 amps to 30 with lights. So, if the battery is rated at 60 AH, it would go 2-3 hours if it had a full charge. Reality is probably less since most of the systems have a minimum voltage they work at and the voltage will be dropping as the battery loses charge. The problem is the alternator does not usually go from working fine to dead all at once, so when they fail, the battery does not have a good charge. If it happens, try not to shut the car off unless you are at a place where it can be fixed and get a jump or charge, since there is usually enough charge to run the car but not enough to run the starter.
