Hi all, im having a problem with the wires that go from the main harness to the drivers side high beam lamp. it seems that the snap that holds the wires away from the pulleys has broken, and the wires were rubbing up against the pulley. nedless to say, the pulley wore away the wire covering and insulator, exposing the wires.

now, my high beam works only on one side. there are maybe 2 strands of wire holding now on both power and ground wires and it seems there is almost no power flowing thru it... it takes a long time for the bulb to turn on, and it doesnt get very bright. i have also checked the bulb and it is not the problem. I have also taped over the wires so they dont short with electrical tape.

i wonder if there is a place where the headlamp wires connect to the main harness, or if i should just get some wire and cut and solder.

just solder from where the problem is and save yourself a nightmare. after you fix it get some wire loom and zip tie the wire away from the crank so it doesnt happen again.

 

yeah that seems to be the most simple answer. i just wish it didnt happen in the first place

ok so i cut and soldered the wires together and its still doing the same thing. again its not the bulbs since they both work fine in the passenger side high beam. im so frustrated.
