Default New prob with my teg

My integra just recently decided it didnt feel like working properly again and now when i rev it up my tach goes nuts and fluctuates all over the place, and when i hit around 6k it kinda sputters like if i kept tapping the gas and letting of it. I think it may have something to do with my dumb *** installing my intake (if you can mess that up). If any has any thoughts or ideas id like to hear em. Thanks.

I don't really know how to approach the problem but you can probably start by doing a compression test. The gauge cost 30 bucks at autozone.

I don;t think a simple intake can caust that problem.

Did you seal the connection properly? How about the one between valve cover to the intake itself?

Do you have proper cold idle? How about idle after warming up?

did you reset the ecu after intake installation?
if not, that's most likely the problem.

are you sure that you would need to do that w/ just an intake installation?

its worth shot at least

That problem sounds similar to the problem I had on my civic. Reving high the tac would go nuts and it felt like the car was accelerating then stoping and accelerating again. I found out my distributor was bad and that was causing the problem.

insatlling an intake will not cause a problem like that, its more than likely distributor related as the bouncing tach needle is a sign of a busted distributor...possibly the coil is on its way out!
