loose header bolts, raining out, will it suck in water?
i was doing a header install and well all sorts of bad **** started to happen, since this is my first time working on the car, i loosened the bolts between header and engine block, and finally managed to loosen all the other bolts on the cat end of the header, but then it started raining, the hood has been closed since rain started, should i be worried the engine will suck in water (what about the cat?) since the bolts are loose?
well since it is your exhaust all the water would go out the end of your tail pipe.
I wouldn't worry about water getting in your engine unless your getting buckets of water tossed down on ya, if thats the case then you should just close the hood and hope the rain lets up.

I am not 100% sure on this but since the engine is expelling waste air out via exhaust manifold > cat convertor > exhaust piping > muffler, you shouldn't have any problem as it's on it's way out and not on it's way in.
I think you misunderstood him(either that or I did) he is saying that he got halfway through the install, loosened the header and cat bolt but didn't get them removed and then it started raining.
He was wondering if water will get in the engine through the gaps between the engine block and the manifold and if it will get into the cat possibly damaging it.
My answer(for what it's worth) is you have nothing to worry about.
