Installed B&M fuel guage, Fuel pressure problem...
I just installed mmy B&M fuel guage and it is reading very very high
It shows that my fuel pressure at idle is 75 PSI and 81 at WOT!!!
what could be the cause of this???Is this bad for the car?
The car has a b16a w/ y1 tranny, CAI, an STR fuel rail, skunk2 intake manifold, stock FPR and exhaust

Did you mess with the adjustment to try and lower it?
If you did, and it had no effect, it sounds like you have a restriction in your line. Did you take the fuel in hose off your fuel rail? If you did, it's possible that you put the washers back in wrong. I did this once and fuel pressure was way too high.

Ahh crap, sorry, I thought you said you had an adjustable FPR too. My bad
I was talking about the hose that connects to the fuel rail. Because when my brother Raene did his FPR, he put a fuel washer on the wrong side of it (can't remember which side) and the pressure was at like 80 psi. Took the washer out and it fixed it. I don't see why your pressure would be so high though, unless it was installed wrong and it's stopping fuel flow. Shot guage maybe?

well i have had my probs with gauges before - so you should check if that value is real - are you running rich - what is the exhaust and what are the plugs like
i had one underhood gauge that just kept going round and round!!

yes, the car is running very very rich, it smokes after installing the fuel rail and intake manifold, i am running a muffler shop exhaust and plugs are zfr5? plugs, not sure, would it make a difference?
I did a FPR check thats in the haynes manual, when i pinched the return line, the fuel pressure did not rise, it just stayed at the constant 75
what should i do?

alright, i think i figured out my problem, the shop that installed my fuel rail installed it wrong
i pulled off my FPR and i noticed that the opening for the FPR to go into the fuel rail was still closed, so basically the FPR isn't hooked up to the rail at all
that should be whats causing the problem right?
how do i open that hole up?

if the fuel pressure is very high, will the car start?
I've been having a problem with the car not starting after shutting it off , last night it did it and i checked the guage and the needle had wrapped all the way around to the point where the needle was resting on the pin of the 0 except on the wrong side
i assume this is pretty bad, could that be why the car won't start?
if i let the car sit for a little while, the car will start up and run fine, but the car has been running very rich
