Default Painting my side-skirts? Do at home? Do at body shop?

For my sideskirts on my 98 Civ Coupe do I just unscrew the obvious 5 or 6 screws I see under the skirt? Or are than any screws hidden away? Also I would just

-remove skirts
-scuff surface of skirts
-put on primer, few coates
-scuff again
-put on the paint

Like that?

Or should I just go to a body shop? How much will that cost? Will it look better or nearly the same?

I personally wouldnt scuff ****. If you succ that plastic, the paint will never be smooth. I would use rubbing alchol and clean them over a 2 day period because ppl usually get black magic and other tire wet **** on them.. If you try painint them with that residue on tehre, your f'd.

I would take them to a shop and have them professionally paint it or buy a spray gun and professional paint and do it yourself. it cost me 120 bux to paint my full kit silver ( 3 years ago )

yeah, i did them myself one time, and the paint didn't stick very well. even with the "right" primer...so get a body shop to do them. they can use the correct bonding agents so the paint will stick, and keep sticking, even when the plastic expands in hot weather.

they'll never look as good as factory issue painted sideskirts, ie 99-00 si civic, b/c they come SMOOTH from honda already correctly painted. not textured like your stock unpainted ones.

mine are painted form a body shop too, and they look fine, but not like stock painted... so to each his own. good luck.

i would just bring them to the bodyshop and not have to worry about it, around me they paint sideskirts for $30-60 each. but maybe im just lazy so do what you want
