Default I volunteer my car as a test mule.

We need some definitive tests on what products produce what benefits for built all motor, without hype. I will offer up my car as a test mule for headers, cams and intakes, whatever - now we just need a dyno to pull it off. Anyone with a dyno in Socal up for it? Some really useful information could be obtained to be used to help H-T members to make informed buying decisions

These test won't do much good unless each setup is tuned....

I see this becoming a very time consuming, expensive proposition.

Very little tuning would be required to test intakes and headers. Cams are another story... C_A_T would be a good choice for a dyno/tuner, because the car is equipped with Hondata, and I hear that Shawn knows his way around the Hondata system a little

You also might want to call trackmasters. They might be up to help as well.

Member ImportReview does this type of thing. http://www.importreview.com

You may consider contacting him to see what he has up his sleeve for the next year or so.

But honestly, I think it'll be hard to get a shop owner to give up valuble free time on the dyno for installation and tuning. It's not beneficial enough to them to do it.

Now, if we can come up with a way to advertise it on this website and make it where the shop can reap the rewards of the labor, then you might stand a chance.

Outside of that, I hate to say it, but you'd probably just end up spinning your wheels.

ditto to that.... it is very exspensive and most people will not let you use their tools, dyno time for just free. Jeff did so many test for h-t and he enjoyed it, but I think he's starting to get out of it, so next year i strongly doubt that he will even do any "dyno" shoot out on parts.

The only thing I would need is dyno time, I have the tools and the labor covered. I just thought I would throw it out there and see if there was any interest. If there is a shop owner willing to give up the dyno time in the interest of product research, all we would need beyond that is products to test. There is a lot of interest in dyno comparisons of different products on the same motor on the same dyno on the same day. My motor is willing and able to test any "all motor" performance parts that need to be tested. Impartial testing would be beneficial to all of us.

I did something like this for few computer websites back in the day. I product tested some speakers and joysticks.

Most of the time you dont get the keep the **** and the manufactur send you a prepaid shipping label to ship it back in the same box it came in.

If you were going to product test, you need to have something to offer in return. So just think about that. It has to be a win-win situation for everyone before something like this happens.

Hey man, stop messing around, bring over all your stuff and I will give you the dyno for free for like 2 days.

How about that?

We put all the reviews on on Importreview. Were putting like 200+ more dyno graphs up there before I close the labor part of the shop..

http://www.importreview.com/main.html

newly updated, must be 3 new reviews, and like 100 new graphs up now.

Your a good honda mechanic, you know what your doing, it won't waste anyones time at all.

Besides, we like you, and that helps.

Jeff

do it next week?

Sounds good, we just need some products to test.

That's the best offer anyone could expect-I would really like to do this, it would be fun. I'll bring all the tools that I need, and I'm sure you would lend me some if I forgot anything.
I wish I had the funds to buy your dyno-there are tons of things that I would like to test.
Anyway, next week sounds good

are you going to do fuel, timing, and cam gear tuning with each product to make it fair?

For headers and intakes, I don't think that a whole lot of camgear, fuel , and timing adjustments would be necessary to make a level playing field. I could be wrong. Cams on the other hand, would be trickier to test fairly.

whats your phone number?

Serious? We don;t work on cars anymore, and I am not really even open to dyno anymore cars.

I am going to do like a 5 day stretch, for the last tuning on my dyno ever...soon. I will advertise that when the time comes..next 2-3 weeks for sure.

RK is throwing up every single tuned car dyno from last year, we are in the process of putting them up...

I would say we have like 100+ to go. I did another 25 today (monday).

Hey...lets do it next week a few days...dyno test the crap out of everything.

On your 2 liter. After I tune it...

All free. You buy lunch, dinner, and anything else we need!

ATTENTION GUYS:

HERE IS YOUR FRICKING CHANCE. POST THIS EVERYWHERE.

IF ANYONE HAS CAMS, HEADERS, or INTAKES THEY WANT TESTED. then PM me or b19coupe

And we will test it out...

A Hondata will be hooked up on the car, with lambda readings so the test is going to be really really fair.

I would like to test some Skunk 3's, VS TYpe-R cams...
I would like to test AEM intake VS anything else...CAI..
I would like to test CARB LEGAL DC header VS JDM DC header..
I would like to test SMSP header, which I have, VS carb legal DC header..
I would like to test EF1 cams vs anything.

thank you, and start PMing and stop messing around!

Jeff

It would be a good idea, for everyone on here to start advertising to get a "Loaner" set of everything you can think of, and send it to TODD aka b19coupe.

He is like a 15 year experience Honda Mechanic...and is a pro.

He is like BOB THE BUILDER for Honda's..

"Can TODD fix it?"

"YES, WE CAN FIX IT"
