Car shuts off while driving. Very unusual????
This is the second time this has happened. Driving down the road and all of the sudden the car is stalled/off. It is a 97 Accord LX. Could this be from the defective ignition switch that they had a recall on. Oh yea the car starts right back up like nothing is wrong also.
Yeah, It may be the switch because this would happen on my Integra and then I changed the "switch" on the back of the tumbler and it was fine. Good luck! That is whare you need to start first!
Battery cables tight? Check the battery ground wire also where it grounds to the car,and make sure its free from rust, and that its not loose. Also the starter and altenator wires, check to be sure they are on tight.
Have your ignition switch checked to see if it is under the recall,I have done many of these at Honda ,but not all Accordswere all under this recall in 1997.
its most likely the ignition recall. it can cause problems when starting the car or can even turn off by itself when you're traveling(very dangerous if you're on the freeway).

Yep, that **** happened to me about 3 years ago in my 97 Lx driving along the interstate. Very scary. It would sometimes happen when accelerating from a traffic light, that sucked the most. But yeah, ignition switch is mostly likely the problem.
