Default Kill switch

I need help badly. I bought a 03 Accord it has a toggle switch next to the steering wheel before it on the left near the TCS button. It worked when I bought it and last night. Today it won't start I had to turn the ignition all the way which only the battery and fans came on. Wait for the lights on the dash to go off and hit the switch up and it would start right up. Today it's not starting I opened the hood the switch runs to the battery and another wire runs to the starter but idk where in the starter. The one with the is on the positive side of the battery.

just use some butt connectors and wire it out

assuming your car has an immobilizer you don't need a kill switch anyhow

What are butt connecters ? And what do you mean wire it out ? Unless that's hooked up correctly I can't get it to start when I turn my ignition all the way only thing that happens is all the lights and fan come on. I then have to flip this switch and that starts the car. But because this wire disconnected it won't start.

Ok I figured that out. They had a switch ran to the positive on the battery and from the other side of the switch to the spade side of the starter. Nothing else then I'd have to turn the ignition to on and then go the switch. Did this really work and is it safe ?. Also why would they do this is there a way I can not use this and use my ignition it did they **** wiring up or the ignition

Can't just bypass the switch if they went straight from the battery to the starter, or it might try to crank and probably give you a good jolt when you first touch the wires together

Best way is to find the ignition circuit schematic and return everything to stock wiring. If you don't know what butt connectors are, then you need to take this to a shop that is good with electrical, or even a Honda dealer to make sure it is done right.

Alternative is to remove the wire and switch you have currently, and locate the wire from the ignition switch that only has voltage when the key is turned all the way to "start". Splice into this wire and run it to the spade terminal on the starter instead.

The battery is ran to the toggle switch from the positive side. Then there was a wire running from the starter to the toggle switch.

2x0 actually gave you good advice.

You should try to reconnect the wiring to how it was originally. You have to determine where they cut the original ignition switch wire (a Blk/Wht wire (Black with a white stripe) and reconnect that back to starter. It can be right after the ignition switch or after the starter cut relay wire.

If you're not able to do that yourself, find a shop that knows what they're doing. It isn't that difficult for someone that would be familiar with your model year Accord.

It may not be a starter kill. The previous owner could have had an issue with the starting circuit and just bypassed the starter cut relay.

Ok I'm not new with wiring I'm new with the car parts to write it to. I just need to get it running so I can get it to the shop to get the ignition correctly fixed and back to stock. What's the safest way I can run a switch to the positive side of the battery and to the starter so I can start the car without splicing into any wires so I can get it to the shop without paying a tow fee
