i just bought this 92 dx 4 door 5 speed... it needed a clutch so i told the guy to have it put in so he did... now i dont kno if this started after the clutch was put in or after... but if ur driving and ur giving it gas the speedometer jumps all over the place any idea what it can be.... thanx

 

by any chance have u checked the VSS??? or looked at the ecu for codes??

 

My speedo sensor died the day after my last clutch was put in around five years ago. It was just a coincidence though. Check codes, but actually my dealership couldn't figure out the problem after three hours with their diagnostic computer. My regular mechanics knew like in two minutes. They remembered that two years earlier I had gotten the sensor wet going through a huge wintertime puddle (salt water). I lost my speedo for a few days while it dried out on its own. So the connection plug was all corroded. They spliced in a new plug and replaced the sensor. Voila! All good.
