You will be hitting well over 200whp with tuning! But for a daily driver I wouldn't recommend it.... I'd go with Spec Bs for daily driver....

Would you care to give a reason why you would rather have Spec B's than Spec C's for a daily driver? Idle is the same. I will be ordering a set of Spec C's for my ITR when funds allow. Who wouldn't like more power?

I have been running Spec Cs on the street for almost a year now.

As for power. What other mods are on the car. The intake/header/cat/exhaust combo can make or break that setup.

I'm sure god will explain that for the 200hp mark you should at least get a relatively high compression block ... with my C packages I usually have LS or GSR or even b16a blocks built up for people with simple CTR pistons to run with that similar package.

From reading, and listening to owners of both Spec C and Bs, I was under the impression that they had different idles, and that the Spec Cs were not as streetable as the Bs.. If I am wrong I am sorry...

The site can say all it wants... owners of both the C's and the B's have stated for well over the past year... the C's are not NEARLY at streetable as the B's. At times the C's find themselves stalling the engine... Though Steve doesn't mind having to restart his R equipped Cs...

Oh wait... it's on the net... thus it's true... my fault.

It's all in the tuning.

Both cams have the SAME NON-VTEC lobes. That means the same idle.

For C's I reccomend the following as a Package
CTR Pistons
Toda Spec C cams
Toda cam gears
Ferrea Retainers
Toda valvesprings
Toyota Injectors (they are 430cc not 440cc)
Reprogrammed ECU
J&R Safegaurd
Complete package is about $3900

Just for the record yes B's and C's idle the exact same way. C's just have more requirements in terms of necessary mods and clearances that the B's don't have. And yes, the injectors are 430cc. Sorry for the mistake folks. I guess I've been around too many MR2's or something.

I can't believe this Spec B and spec C stuff is going on. How many times has it been covered the Spec B cams have the same primary lobes as the Spec C cams?

Anyway, daily driver, no problems. I would suggest with both the B's and C's you adjust your valve lash every 10,000 miles, replace your timing belt every 35,000 miles, and keep everything else generally well maintained... as I'm sure most do

10k miles on the adjustment? I was planning on checking at each oil change...

BTW: is there a torque spec on those screws to tighten in place after you have made the adjustment? Let me double-check with Eric...

Why the ferrea retainers? Portflow not good enough?

I like the quality of Ferrea's Products and for $40 more they are worth it.
